Nathaniel Mission Spring Work Day
Saturday, May 16 from 9am – 12 noon
From mulching to mopping, sorting donations to shoveling, there’s a way to pitch in at the work day! All are invited to this opportunity to serve our mission partner that does a wonderful job serving the community in the Versailles Road Corridor every day. 1109 Versailles Road.

After-School Pizza Party at Tates Creek Community Center
Wednesday, May 20th at 4PM
Please join us at Tates Creek Community Center (3460 Campus Way, Lexington, KY 40517) for our After-School Pizza Party! This initiative supports one of our 2026 goals to deepen engagement with local mission partners. At these events, WHC volunteers will come together to serve pizza and snacks to area children and spend time with students to encourage them through positive, caring engagement We will participate in this outreach every third Wednesday of the month, creating consistent opportunities to connect and invest in these young lives. After Worship Refreshments
We are so grateful to our members and friends who help create a welcoming time of fellowship following worship each Sunday. This special half hour together is made possible by volunteers like you!
Refreshments can be simple—whatever is easiest for you to provide. In the past, we’ve enjoyed everything from cookies and lemonade to finger sandwiches, chips, fruit, and crackers with dips.
To sign up, please complete our form with your name, email, and preferred date from the dropdown menu. All listed Sundays are currently available. You’ll receive a confirmation email shortly after submitting your request.

The Catholic Action Center’s Sandwich Ministry
WHC has provided volunteers for the Catholic Action Center’s Sandwich Ministry every fourth Sunday of the month since June 2011. This volunteer opportunity involves gathering supplies, preparing 75-100 sandwiches, and delivering them to the Catholic Action Center for dispersal to men and women in need.
To sign up, please use the booking form below. Dates without names beneath are currently available. Please remember that this opportunity is only available on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Instructions for food preparation and delivery are as follow:
- Prepare 75 – 100 sandwiches of any type (no mayo please!)
- Cut them in half
- Place them in a covered container that you do not need returned
- Deliver between 8AM and 8PM on the date of which you’ve signed up
- Bring them to the kitchen door on the left side of the building. Ring the doorbell and our core kitchen volunteers will retrieve them!
