Wednesdays @ 11AM | Bible/Sermon Study

All are invited to join this weekly Bible study hosted by Rev. Shawn! This “Sermon Study” runs from 11am-12pm in the Sanctuary each Wednesday and will give Walnut Hill members and friends the opportunity to study the Scripture passage for the upcoming Sunday sermon. Everyone is invited to share their thoughts on the texts as well as ideas for how it might be preached. Our first series, titled “Faith Forward”, follows the Lectionary passages from the Book of James. We hope to see you there! 

Thursday, August 22, 5-8pm | Sips + Saints: Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere, by Savannah Guthrie

Our first gathering for “Sips + Saints,” led by Amy Jo Barkley, will take place Thursday, August 22nd starting at 5pm at Walnut Hill Church! At this meeting, we’ll discuss Savanah Guthrie’s book, Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere while enjoying tea, coffee, drinks, and snacks. We hope you’ll join us for some fun conversation and time together!

A few guidelines for our Sips + Saints meetings:

• The book for this meeting is SHORT, so there is still plenty of time to read it 😉
• No worries if the book or author isn’t to your taste–we’d still love for you to attend! We expect to discuss the book a bit, but plenty of other topics, too.
• ALL ARE WELCOME! Please bring friends, neighbors, work colleagues, or anyone you think would enjoy getting together.

Sunday, August 25, After Worship | Church Year Kickoff + CAC Sandwich Ministry

As the summer travel season winds down and we gear up for the start of another school year, it marks the time when church activities ramp back up! WHC will celebrate the beginning of the “Church Year” with a special morning for the entire church family on Sunday, August 25th!  Following worship that day we’ll have a potluck luncheon, a fun “Foam Party” for the young folks, and time to enjoy being together in God’s House! We’ll also help our youth and families prepare sandwiches for the CAC’s Sandwich Ministry.

We will also collect school supply donations for Brenda Cowan Elementary at this event. Supplies needed by both teachers and students can be found for each grade at this website. Thank you!
