Summer Chapel – Early Morning Worship in Trinity Hall
Sundays @ 9:30am starting July 5th

Summer has a way of opening us up to new things, and this season we’re embracing that spirit with a lighter, more relaxed worship style and setting for Summer Chapel!

Starting July 5th, Pastor Shawn will lead our Summer Chapel every Sunday at 9:30am in Trinity Hall. It’s a casual, intimate alternative to our 11am service with music coordinated by Ben Horman, and when the weather cooperates, we may move things outside to the lawn.

Same message, different setting, special music, and good fellowship. Whether you’re an early riser or simply curious about a different way to worship this summer, we’d love to have you join us!

Tates Creek Community Coalition Soccer Day
Wednesday, July 22nd from 3:30-5:30pm

Join us on Wednesday, July 22nd from 3:30–5:30 PM at Gainesway Park (just behind the Tates Creek Community Center at 3495 Campus Way) for a free afternoon of soccer, food, and fun!

Walnut Hill Church is partnering with the Tates Creek Community Coalition to host a Soccer Day for local kids and families. Kids of all ages are welcome to meet two Lexington Sports Club professional players and train, drill, and play alongside members of the Llama Legends, one of LYSA’s competitive division adult teams. We’ll wrap up with community scrimmages, a free grab-and-go dinner, and raffle prizes!

You don’t have to play like Messi. You just have to love the game. All are welcome. No experience necessary.

We also need volunteers! If you have soccer skills, we especially want to hear from you. Contact the office or fill out our volunteer form to sign up.

Need more details? Check out our Soccer Day event schedule and community Soccer Day flyer.

Sips and Saints: Remarkably Bright Creatures
Tuesday, July 28th, 6PM

Join us for our July edition of Sips and Saints as we read “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt!  Mark your calendar for Tuesday, July 28th at 6:00 PM, and join us at the home of Pell Wardrop (address available in our newsletter) for an evening of thoughtful discussion and warm fellowship. Bring a beverage or shareable if you’d like, and come ready for good conversation and community.

This charming debut novel follows Tova Sullivan, a widow quietly grieving the decades-old disappearance of her son, and Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus with an uncanny ability to observe the humans around him. Funny, moving, and surprisingly profound, it’s a story about grief, connection, and the unlikely places we find answers. Fair warning: it may make you cry, laugh, and Google octopuses–possibly all at the same time!

You asked for it, so we’re doing it again. Drop the kids off with Hope and her crew for a fun, well-fed evening at the church while you take the night for yourself. Run those errands, enjoy a quiet dinner, or just breathe for a few hours. We’ve got them covered, and yes, that includes dinner. Fazoli’s is on us 😉

Parents and grandparents, this one’s for you. We’d love to treat your family to a little break.
