Thanks also to Amanda and Jacqueline for their presence with children and youth and to the children/youth for their service preparing sandwiches for guests at the Catholic Action Center.

Easter Lilies – As is Walnut Hill tradition, we will be decorating the Sanctuary with lilies for Easter Sunday. Thanks to all our lily sponsors. After Easter worship, we want to distribute lilies to various Walnut Hill members/friends who cannot be with us in person. Use reply email to let us know if you would like to volunteer to deliver a lily on your way home after worship.
The Flower Cross – a new Walnut Hill tradition. The Flower Cross will be placed just outside the Sanctuary doors on Saturday and Sunday (Apr 3 & 4). Bring a flower(s) of any variety to add to the flower cross, which is covered with a wire mesh into which single stems can be placed. It is our hope that by the end of Easter Day our Flower Cross might look something like this .
Seeking VOLUNTEERS – As we look forward to a return to in-person worship and activities, we are aware that Amanda can only be in one class at one time. With that reality in mind, we are seeking volunteers to help lead our elementary age class. Sunday volunteers will be provided all they need (lesson plans, activities, etc) to spend a wonderful hour with the children. No previous experience required. Visit the Sunday School Sign-Up and volunteer for a Sunday or two. Amanda will follow up with you regarding the details. The children will enjoy your presence, and you will enjoy them.
Circulation Plan Campaign – Our campaign to complete the “Circulation Plan,” including the driveway and other infrastructure needs, is now underway. Use reply email if you have questions about the work ahead, and we will put you in touch with the person who can answer your questions. Thanks in advance for your support of this important effort.
“Imagine! God’s Earth and People Restored” is the theme of this year’s Ecumenical Advocacy Days, April 18-21. This year’s EAD will be virtual, making it possible to attend from wherever you might be. As an expression of our shared commitment to creation care, Walnut Hill will sponsor any Member/Friend who attends. Simply let us know of your plans, and the church will reimburse your registration fee. Use reply email or visit Imagine! for more information and/or registration.
Backpack Ministry – Walnut Hill has committed to support students/families at Brenda Cowan Elementary School through the Walnut Hill Backpack Ministry. We are currently providing 50 backpacks per week for students. Visit Backpack Ministry for information on how you can be part of this important work through food donations and other support. You may bring food items to Walnut Hill on Saturday/Sunday mornings between 9am and Noon, or contact the church office to arrange a convenient pick-up or delivery time.
A Visit? Mike is available for in-person visits (with appropriate social distancing and face coverings) at your request. Use reply email or call the church office (859-263-5304) to schedule a visit.
Online/Text Giving – Online and text giving to Walnut Hill are now available for those who might prefer the convenience of electronic giving. You can access online giving via the “Give” tab of the Walnut Hill website and text giving via 859-354-3919. Whether by traditional check/cash or electronic donation, thanks to all who continue to be very generous in their support of Walnut Hill’s life and ministry.
Peace be with you.
