Nov. 16, 2020:
Thanks to all those who connected to our Sunday live stream worship on November 15. Special thanks to Angela (music), Amanda (live stream), and Ginger (floral arrangement) for their service on Sunday. If you missed Sunday’s live stream, you can view it any time on the Walnut Hill Facebook page. Online Services only continue through November/December, or as coronavirus conditions require. Watch the Friday update for details from Sunday to Sunday.
Thanks to all who “attended” Sunday’s Congregational Meeting, one of our better attended meetings, in-person or virtual. It was great to see all those smiling faces at one time, and to affirm that Walnut Hill’s life and ministry are well even in these strange times! You can view the Congregational Meeting materials to see the “business” that was transacted. Use reply email or call the church office if you have questions following up from the meeting.
Virtual fellowship gatherings are being offered Wednesdays, 1pm. If you would like to participate, just let us know by reply email, and we will send the meeting details to you. If you have participated in a previous virtual fellowship gathering, you do not need to rsvp again, you will receive the meeting details automatically.
“Mask up” Signs – As mentioned on Sunday, “Mask up” signs are available to Members/Friends for display at your home or business. Use reply email to request a sign.
Children/Youth Christmas Pageant: With some creative and safe adaptations, we hope to have the annual Children/Youth Christmas Pageant on Sunday, December 6. Christmas music practice began on Sunday and will continue. Costume distribution will begin next weekend. More details will be forthcoming to parents/grandparents.
Backpack Ministry – Walnut Hill has committed to support students/families at Brenda Cowan Elementary School through the Walnut Hill Backpack Ministry. As you might be aware, we are currently providing 50 backpacks per week for students. Visit Backpack Ministry for information on how you can be part of this important work through food donations and other support.
Thanksgiving Stuffing/Dressing has been fully sponsored! Thanks to several Walnut Hill folks, there will be plenty of stuffing/dressing when the folks at the Nathaniel Mission serve their annual community Thanksgiving Dinner. Whether the meal be served in-person or take-out, it will be a feast for all. Also, Walnut Hill is providing Thanksgiving gift bags to children who participate in Mission programs. Thanks to Janella for assembling and delivering these gift bags. Happy Thanksgiving!
A Visit? Mike is available for in-person visits (with appropriate social distancing and face coverings) at your request. Use reply email or call the church office (859-263-5304) to schedule a visit.
Online/Text Giving – Online and text giving to Walnut Hill are now available for those who might prefer the convenience of electronic giving. You can access online giving via the “Give” tab of the Walnut Hill website and text giving via 859-354-3919. Whether by traditional check/cash or electronic donation, thanks to all who continue to be very generous in their support of Walnut Hill’s life and ministry.
Peace be with you.
