Feb. 15, 2021:
Thanks to all those who connected to our Sunday live stream worship on February 14. Thanks to the Horman family (music) and Julie (live stream) for their service on Sunday. If you missed Sunday’s live stream, you can view it any time on the Walnut Hill Facebook page. Thanks also to several children, along with Jacqueline and Amanda, who joined us for a worship zoom at 10am.
Virtual fellowship gatherings continue Wednesdays, 1pm. If you would like to participate, just let us know by reply email, and we will send the meeting details to you. If you have participated in a previous virtual fellowship gathering, you do not need to rsvp again, you will receive the meeting details automatically.
UNPACKING A LEGACY – The February distance learning opportunity, Unpacking a Legacy, continues on Thursday evenings (Feb 18, 25), 7pm, via zoom. We are “unpacking” the influence of historical racism as it might have affected Walnut Hill’s life and ministry over the decades since its founding in 1785, as well as exploring the possibilities for Walnut Hill’s future offered by our discoveries. Use reply email to register or for more information.
Backpack Ministry – Walnut Hill has committed to support students/families at Brenda Cowan Elementary School through the Walnut Hill Backpack Ministry. As you might be aware, we are currently providing 50 backpacks per week for students. Visit Backpack Ministry for information on how you can be part of this important work through food donations and other support. You may bring food items to Walnut Hill on Saturday/Sunday mornings between 9am and Noon, or contact the church office to arrange a convenient pick-up or delivery time. Special thanks to several donors who responded so generously to Margaret’s and Marlee’s presentation last Sunday (Feb 7). We have received $1,200 in Backpack Ministry contributions this past week. Thanks to all!
RaiseRED is the name of a student-led program at the University of Louisville to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and care at UofL Medical School and Norton Children’s Hospital. Walnut Hill’s Ben Horman, a student at UofL, is participating in this program. Visit RaiseRED to view Ben’s page, learn more about the effort, and/or make a donation.
A Visit? Mike is available for in-person visits (with appropriate social distancing and face coverings) at your request. Use reply email or call the church office (859-263-5304) to schedule a visit.
Online/Text Giving – Online and text giving to Walnut Hill are now available for those who might prefer the convenience of electronic giving. You can access online giving via the “Give” tab of the Walnut Hill website and text giving via 859-354-3919. Whether by traditional check/cash or electronic donation, thanks to all who continue to be very generous in their support of Walnut Hill’s life and ministry.
Peace be with you.
